I mean why is not allowed to drink alcohol or have alcoholic beverages in public places, like the park, street, etc. What is the motive behind it? Any sort of help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Presumably, it's to keep people from getting drunk off their asses out on the streets. And yet, I've been to towns in continental Europe where they have no "open container" laws where it's perfectly legal for anybody to walk around with a can of beer, and interestingly enough, they have no such problem. Go figure.

Mainly it is for civil order. Traditionally there are problems with vagrants drinking alcohol and being a drain on society. So to discourage vagrants from staying; the local laws make it as unpleasant for them as possible.

The laws against open containers in vehicles is to stop people from driving while intoxicated. If a bottle is being passed around in a car, what is stopping the driver from taking a drink?

Easier to roust the bums, easier to keep college kids in line. All kinds of 'benefit of society' stuff.

If you're old enough to drink, and if you can afford to drink, do it in a bar or at home, not in the streets.

That law other than driving, is just a way for the communities and states to make money off of fines.
