I think the American dream consists of being happy and prospering through a thriving community and great job. Although I think the concept has been somewhat eroded by big corporations these days.

The American Dream is the fact that you can start at the bottom, come here as an immigrant (a legal one), or be born here....and even if you have no money, and have to get an education, you can work up from the bottom and become as successful as you want to work to be. You could become a millionaire (many have), or just have the successful job, or whatever your goal and "dream" is.

We are one of the few places you still can do that. In some areas, because of the cost of living, it is harder....but you can always go to another part of the country and totally succeed.
It takes hard work, specific goals, and it can be done.

I think the idea of the American Dream is possibility. Americans like to believe that America is a place full of equal opportunity where if you work hard you will become rich and wealthy and happy. Although this may not be true I do believe that their is a lot of possibility in America. We have many options that other countries and people don't have given to them.
