I've been different all my life. The quiet kid in school, that always did his work, and did it well, got top grades, had few friends-- none to confide in but himself...

Toward the end of secondary school, I started truanting because of moderate to extreme bullying. Missed alot.

Moved home, out of the city to a rural area, I never really fit in even though I kept thinking I would, that it would be a change. The skipping continued. I left school with not the best grades.

I went to college and dropped out due to too much time off. I do not smoke, drink, do drugs or anything. No friends to go on anti social runs with. I am a good person.

Up to now- everything in my academic life has been a waste. I have nothing to show for it.

And yet... I feel as if it doesn't matter, I feel as if something is going to happen soon... I am going to ascend to the next level, and finally make my way through life, the way I want too...

This is my new begining.

Do you think Im being stupid?

there's an old idea from shamansm that has, more recently been 'discovered' in psych' - personal construct theory, to be precise...but let me give you the shamanic side - it's clearer!

there are two types of people in the world - eagle and crow. eagle spend their time considering truth, the meaning of life, what it means to be human etc......crow spend their time being human, finding a place they belong, making the links that make their life real....

kinda guessing you are eagle...if i'm right(and there are plenty of reasons i might be wrong) then the whole meaning of life thing will be your quest...buut your DEEPER issue is how you are going to find a place you feel like you fit in the world.

your mission is cool(and rare - 99% crow and 1% eagle seems about the way things are!!!) but you need others to support and enrich you in your quest. no advice from me here - i'm crap at this! - but valuing people who are important, letting them know how and why they mean something to you, - that's a good start.

ps - accept that you are different...as time goes by you will see how VERY different people are...freak is the worst thing you can be in school but the BEST thing you can be in real life....you think bill gates is normal? thom yorke from radiohead? abraham lincoln?!?!?!? choose your idol - exceptional is always a ;il lonely...at least at the beginning.

Not everyone is academic, some people prefer hands on physical work. If you want to , you can always resit your exams etc, and then apply for a NVQ, which is working towards a qualification while in the workplace, and the academic side is not too difficult.

I would think that you need to have SOME qualifications because you are only 18, and may feel differently when you are older.

Good luck!

Not at all, I think 18 is when your life truly begins. Up to that point your stuck on a path with very few options. Then, once your 18, you can finally live your life how you want to. I turned 18 about two months ago and am looking forward to moving out into the country and escaping these suburbs.

I think you are most intelligent. I also had a similar experience in my life. My discontent with all has brought me to the highest pleasure and satisfaction I could have ever imagined. You are on the verge of a spiritul awakening, keep moving forward. You are doing great. Here are some of the basics-
We are not this material body, IE; Race, color, nationality, Religion, mind, intellect, senses, job, etc. We are all eternal spirit souls, part and parcel of the Supreme Soul, also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. We never die, only this mortal body dies.
This material world is not our real home, it is called Maya (illusion) and is temporary and full of misery, only one fourth of the souls come here, and the rest are enjoying blissful eternal loving relationships with our Maker named above. Those who are intelligent and tired of this hard struggle for material existance, take up the process of self realization (Bhakti Yoga) which gives one real peace, happiness and reality. They learn the process of developing our eternal long lost relatinsip with our Maker named above. Then at the end of life they can return to the eternal Kingdom where there is no more birth, death, old age, or disease and be eternally happy. Kindly check this out, it will make you so happy if you sincerely seek out this Universal truth.

me and many of my friends felt like this at your age after the whole stupid academic process had finished and we had mucked around and made a few mistakes. you're at the beginning of your whole life and you're looking forward to it. You also seem to have a sense of purpose, which some have and some don't, so you'll probably find a drive to do someone which you will follow through on and be successful.

enjoy the life you have ahead of you and make the most of it.

No, you're not stupid. I believe you know that something is gonna happen to you...it sounds like a good thing.

I know that I was born for something good because I was a five week old twin premature baby...I was the weak one. On the paper with my sister and Me's heartbeats, hers was between 10-30 beats per minute...mine was between 0-5. I have even small flat lines on the paper...

I want to become a forensic psychologist.

You are not being stupid. Your experiences are very common - school is generally a dreadful experience. Now you are an adult you can begin to define life on your own terms. Do reconsider your education - you will need qualifications to get on in life. As for drugs, they are very passe nowadays - have you ever heard anyone say anything interesting whilst 'high'?

I think I know what you mean about this.. is it like an intangible potential that you know wont rely on your grades? If it is, I feel like that too. I'm only fourteen though, not the most social person, could get good grades if I tried. Do I think your being stupid? No, I think you've got it all figured out.

Actually I think that was quite brilliant. Many of "us" take years before even thinking about what our purpose is. We all caught up with school, work, what we're supposed to achieve
next, then what to achieve after that. I have a verse that I would like to share with you.

"Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun. Ecclesiastes 2:11

Did you know that God the creator of heaven and earth loves you so much that he wants to have a personal relationship with you? He loves you so much he even numbered the hairs on your head! Matthew 10:30. He knows you better than you think...
O LORD, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD. Psalm 139:1-4

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son." John 3:16-18.

You have a friend in Jesus, <3

Some of the most successful people in the world didn't do all that well in school. They simply found something they were good at and put all their energy into it. Keep a positive attitude, an open mind, and follow your dreams
