We ran a 3-4 when I was in high school with the strong safety at 10 yards and the free at 15.
Spread offenses weren't very common in high school back then, so we faced mostly I-formations, wing-T, wishbone, and split back sets. We did go 10-0 and finish 3rd in state my senior year.

The 3-4 defense is a run stopping formation. Filled with hole filling linebackers. In this formation one outside linebacker is responsible for covering either the TE or backs coming from the back field. When an offense uses a spread formation. i.e. 5 WR 's then it's up to the Line backers to play man on 3 of the receivers. Unless your linebackers are "All Americans" then a spread offense will pick you apart.
When the offense goes to spread, switch to Nickel, Dime, or Quarter which are backfield enforced.
Nickel is 4 Line, 2 LB, 3 CB, 2S
Dime is 4 Line, 1 LB, 4 CB, 2S
Quarter is 3 line, 1 LB, 5 CB, 2S

sure, it can be very successful. My HS used many different sets on D, and we went 7-2 reg season and lost in the second round of the playoffs on a missed two point conversion. We also lost 14-7 to the eventual state champions, and the playoff game we lost was to two-year defending state champs. we used the 3-4 those games...so, it can work

self esteem, continuously attempting to fulfill the customary of the team. additionally in assessment to a activity that is young ones at play. And instead of being a teamplayer it relatively is extra of a time in simple terms attempting to slot in with the peer preasure. Grades are probable the biggest worry of all of them. With practice primary after college, it does no longer supply plenty time for homework. without the grades you are able to no longer make the team. After dedicating 4 years of ball to intense college, the rigidity of going to the subsequent point by employing way of scholarship is a brilliant rigidity too.
