Peyton Manning
That guy's pretty good. If you like...six-five, 230-pound quarterbacks with a...laser rocket arm...

Unitas or Marino
the guy that said Aikman had 4 rings lied - Bradshaw is the only quarterback that has 4
I forgot, Montana has 4 as well - Bradshaw just did it first
(by the way, Bart Starr has 5 NFL championship rings - the Packers won 5 in 7 years - I think that is the best)

Before its all said and done I think Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are going to be the two top names in this discussion...but right now the standard for which all QB's are judged is Joe Montana. He may not be the best passer in the history of the NFL and had a great supporting cast, but all he did was win and win Super Bowls. He, Bart Starr, Terry Bradshaw, John Elway, and Tom Brady all epitmoize the leadership qualities that are essientel to being a great QB.
Best passer: Dan Marino. W/o a doubt had one of the best arms we've ever seen.
Best athlete: Frank Tarkenten and Otto Graham...some older guys. But just watch what these guys did...especially Tarkenten he had virtually no help in Minnesota on offense but carried the team on his back.

There's going to be a lot of opinions, but I'd have to go with Joe Montana. He had a great supporting cast, but he also made some incredible plays in big games. If you judge them by winning the big ones, Montana certainly did that. In a few years, however, we might have to amend this to Tom Brady. With the talent he has this year at wide receiver, he might be winning his 4th Super Bowl. For a guy who was a college backup, even three ain't bad. He's incredibly consistent and doesn't beat himself. If you watch him, he's very accurate. The ball is almost always in the perfect spot for the receiver to catch. But, for now I'd say Montana.

John Elway , Steve Young , Joe Montana , Johnny Unitas , Peyton Manning , Tom Brady , Dan Fouts , Terry Bradshaw , Warren Moon , Dan Marino. They're all up there. But it depends on what category of what u like in a qb. In my opinion Peyton Manning and Dan Marino are the best passing qb's. And Joe Montana , and John Elway , had the best leadership qualities. But like i said its what u think is great about a QB i dont think there is a QB who is great at everything . So if u really think about it there is no 1 great QB in NFl history there are a lot of QB's who are worthy of being called great.

That's kinda hard since a lot of QB's had their own unique style. Montana was Mr. Clutch. Marino was great on a horrible team. Farve has the consecutive streak and going to pass Marino. There is always going to be a debate.

I can't believe someone said Tony Romo...for sure its Joe Montana. He is one of the few qbs from the 80's that would have been able to have success w/ todays style defenses...Marino is up there as well despite not having a ring, and Tom Brady and Peyton Manning will be when their careers are over.

Now? Marino or Montana. Just choose your philosophy (Pure ability or winning championships)
In 8 years. Brady or Manning. Same thing applies.
There will be debates amongst generations as time passes (The Brady vs Montana vs Namath vs Unitas Etc), but always the same.
