Was Watching the evening News.....and heard that Elvis Presley Died!! So Hard to believe. So Hard to accept. I still miss Him and listen to His songs. (Like many others, I know) No one can sing "Gospel" Like Elvis! Now He and His Daughter are doing a DUET ON VIDEO, Together. ( In the Ghetto, I think) I heard a little of it tonight on T.V. (pretty) >> (Smile)

I think I was at school then, but it wasn't an earth shattering event because I wasn't a big fan. I know some people who had the whole velvet paintings on the wall were really upset, but honestly I was kind of late for the whole "Elvis fan" thing that some people grew up with.
If he had been in a heavy metal group I probably would've been more upset, but not to the extent of a Cobain fan when he went. They are human beings and entertainers, not messiahs right?

Lying in bed reading, the breeze was cool, it was a fairly hot day, and the clock radio reported that Elvis was dead. After a few minutes I left to tell my parents. It was a sad day.

Living about 10 miles over the hill, as the crow flies, from where I live now. I don't remember the exact moment I first heard the news. I had just given birth to my 4th child.

I was playing in the yard. I remember my Mom bursting into tears. I was 9 and we had just moved to Tennessee 6 weeks earlier.
Peace.
