My parents were both Democrats. I was raised to beleive like a Democrat. Then when I got old enough to understand a few things about politics,( around Nixon's time ) I started to understand just why my parents where Democrats. You see, my family has always believed in helping people in need. They were not great Christians but cared about people. If you see a hungy kid, you feed it. If you saw an elderly person in need, you helped them. It was not all about the almighty dollar, and in the 50's and 60's neither party thought it was. As the gap between the classes grew, it became about money to the Conservatives and somehow, somewhere down the line they lost their compassion and grew contempt for anyone that was poor and resented being taxed to help them. Some of that was because we do have lazy, drug addicts that screw the system. But the system was put in place to help the deserving people of this country and it still does that. Capitalism is a great thing but not when it comes to having healthy kids and keeping people warm. Doctors, hospitals and pharmacutical companies are raping people every day. It is okay to make a profit but a lot of people cannot afford insurance becasue of it. 7.00 for a couple of tylenol? 80 dollar doctor visits? Conservatives bash the poor and say welfare instills laziness. Could be to some extent but if you had to work for minimum wage and pay a babysitter would you need help? Conservatives compalin about the lazy people, then complain when a minimum wage increase is passed to help them out and maybe get them off the welfare roles. Then they complain that illegals are taking those minimum wage jobs away and driving down wages. How much lowwer than 5.25 an hour can you go and not starve? Anyway, I am through with my rant.

We never voted for war. Also, I live in Liberal upstate NY where the Democrats have created the most levels of government, the highest taxes in the country, jobs for all their friends, and 25% poverty rate. Some system. They USE the poor by promising everything to them, keeping them dependent, then using tax dollars for patronage. Why these people keep voting for more entitlements without realizing they are shooting themselves in the foot is completely the fault of liberals. They keep feeding them this rhetoric. Our economy is one of the worst in the country.

Get rich quick schemes in the capitalist business world, such as buyouts, IPOs, conglomerates, acquisitions, mergers, and the stock market do not actually work.
Remaining solvent does not actually exist within false economics capitalism.
Pathological lying about profit existing in the capitalist business world, or millionaires existing within capitalism, is deception committed by the 21 organizations spying on the public with plain clothes agents, (with covert fake names, fake backgrounds, and fake property).
Actual economics involves the persons paying the monthly business loan payments of companies owning the companies, and voting at work in order to operate the companies they are paying for.
Capitalism is the psychology of imaginary parents, false economics, and criminal deception of employees that are paying the bills (including the stocks and bonds, or shares) of companies.
Anti-democracy republicanism is the psychology of imaginary parents, and false government.

If you were seriously asking a question, it was lost in your il-founded, il-conceived rant.
My parents were Democrats. I became a conservative when I grew up and opened my eyes (when I became a man and was able to exercise critical thinking).
Your version of how the war began is completely warped. But then, you're a democrat and little more can be expected of you and your ilk.
I am a conservative, I use my brain. I believe in capitalism, not socialism. I believe in responsibility and accountability. I believe in less government. I believe if you invest wisely in your future, that you should reap the rewards. Not to have them stripped from you all in the name of "Fairness." When it comes to "helping" the "Less fortunate," I believe in teaching them to fish so that they may eat for a lifetime instead of the democrat's give them a fish so that they may eat today.
Show me a democrat and I'll show you an idealist who's not in touch with reality.

My parents were both democrats but neither were liberal, my father has been dead for 46 years but my mother is still living and is not at all happy with how the democrats have been voting.
I got much wiser as I got older and converted to conservatism once I began to realize that liberalism was like a disease of the brain similar to cancer where it keeps eating at your brain until there is nothing left.

Because we're realists and do what has to be done regardless of how difficult or unpopular it may be. Democrats are always worried about what somebody else is going to think of them. That, coupled with their heads in the clouds, results in nothing--or stupidity.
