Sorry but it is a scam. They tell you it's free to 'audition' or 'interview' because they tell you about the fee later. What they're really doing at that so-called interview is sizing you up to see if you'll buy into what they're telling you (how great you are and what potential you have) enough to pay their fees. The modeling industry in this country is based in NY. You may be able to get small jobs locally but not much more than a car show, local department store or something like that. Realistically there is not much if anything going in in WI. There aren't even any SAG franchised agencies in your state. The nearest ones are in IL.

Your best bet is not to go to this thing. They are experts at telling people all sorts of wonderful things then going in for the kill to get your money. People have posted here and other places that the classes they have are a joke and don't teach you much of anything. You are better off seeking classes elsewhere for acting, singing and dancing.

Do a search here for Barbizon and see what others have said as well. No one here is against you becoming successfull. They just don't want you to get ripped off.

good lucK!

Tell your mom not to waste her money. They are going to suck her into classes for you that you do not need. Any reputable modeling agency does sign a client based off their runway coaching. If you have the look they want they will train you themselves and they will also direct you with photos.

This is what you do if you are interested in this work. Take a regular snapshot of yourself without makeup. Agencies want to see what you really look like. They are very creative and will create the look based off your natural beauty. Send these photos to agencies locally or nationally if you like. They do not charge instead they take a percentage of your income. You can sign with local agencies that may charge a small fee for bit and extra work and possibly print work.

As for acting. Tell your mom to get you involved with local theater. Summer theater programs are great. School plays are great. You can start mastering your craft this way.

You can take dance class, voice, music and things like that. Most lessons cost about $15 to $25 per lesson.

All these things help you become a well rounded entertainer without spending an unnecessary fortune. You will develop the confidence you will need on a 2 minute audition.

Whatever you do, do not waste your parents money on Barbizon.

Additional info after reading your replies: Quit being so bullheaded. It is not an interview. It is a pressure sales gig and a con game for vulnerable people. They claim they are going to train you. You do not need this type of training. Don't ask if you don't want to hear the truth.

Barbizon is a modeling school. If you decide to pay for their school, just remember that there is literally no modeling work in Wisconsin. There may be a little print job for your local newspaper, things like that. Your parent(s) would need to bring you to Chicago to get a legit modeling agent and to get work.

Barbizon is a HUGE scam. Please take my advice, and STAY AWAY!! I have friends who have lost thousands of dollars through them with their kids, and I don't want to see that happen to another person. Take classes, learn the craft, and get a real agent.
