Ever since the attempted undoing of Clinton and the smearing by the Limbahs were politics have turned into hateful wars.

Before, it was conservative against liberal and we were pretty much talking. Now, if I bring up an issue with a neocon, all I get back is hateful words. That goes from this forum to my former workplace where the several I knew were off the map with hatred, often directed silently at minorities and outwardly to people they thought were on their side, but really weren't but were afraid to speak out.

Zealotry has and is undoing our political proccesses in this country we're its the Carl Rove machines of smear, taking out of context, even lying to get an agenda shoved down the peoples throats.

When the whole fiasco over Clinton happened, not only did I sware never to vote for a republican again, I failed to understand why people would approve of such hateful shanigans to undo our system of government. I also failed to understand why people didn't leave the republican party in droves then. Now they are, but it took a decade for them to figure that out, and its now only a trickle albeit at this point if the people were to decide on another republican or Howdy Doody, Howdy would win in a landslide.

If anyone has a reason to impeach, it is the liberals vs Bush.

I despise neocons to the point where it makes me vomit.

I disliked Nixon, but in hindsight, I'd take 20 Nixons for the next decade over another month of Monkey Man.

Peace

Jim

It's an extension of the never-ending feud between Republicans and Democrats. I used to think that this recently started with our current President, but look at Nixon. Boy was that ugly. Unfortunately, the way I see it now is that people who claim they're Republicans will hate Democrats just because there's a D next to their name, and Democrats will hate Republicans because there's an R next to their name. I believe that rather than listening to real issues, each party member will only listen to their own side and it's not right. It's become an issue of "you're entitled to your own opinion as long as it's the one I agree with". It's what's dividing our country more and more. It's time to stop this nonsense and look at what's really going on on both sides of the table.

Its been this way since February of this year at least. That's when I started visiting this site frequently. I used to think it was people just being ridiculous but then it became clear that many of them are dead serious. It seems like each side feels extremely threatened by the other. Its hard to believe we are all living in the same country, going to work every day, co-existing, and knowing how many people feel just under the surface. I don't remember this kind of suspicion since the beginnings of the cold war. Sad.

Well I've been here since May of 2006, and it's always been like this. There's a reason people say don't talk about religion and politics in polite company. Politics are volatile and people get mad and crazy. Here online people can get as po'd as they like and not start a uncomfortable real life throw down. I think it's actually a pretty good outlet for a lot of people's anger.

It's been this way since President Monroe left office and the "Era of Good Feeling" ended. Thankfully they didn't have an internet back then.

Science changed much of it, I personally think. Embryonic stem cell research, global warming, porn. When knowledge due to communication becomes widespread and centralized there will always be division because centralized sources of knowledge will always be biased.

Politics and religion have always been hot topics that cause anger.

It's all about the struggle between good and evil.

Welcome to Politics. It's where you can find people who think they know what they're talking about and don't have any idea what they're saying as long as it "sounds smart" you know, just like on TV.
