You're dehydrated. You need to drink more to dilute the urine. Unless you have been eating a lot of asparagus!

Sometimes certain medications or vitamins can make your pee smell bad too. Other times the food that you eat and the time of day. In the morning, your kidneys have made more concentrated urine while you slept so it is stronger. I would try everything that everyone said above, drink more water etc. I think if you dont have any symptoms though of a urinary tract infection you can skip the cranberry and if you notice anything else odd, see your doc

Sometimes certain foods tend to make the urine a little more pungent ... When urine smells, it usually means you are not drinking enough liquids - Stay hydrated drinking @ least 6 to 8 glasses of water a day & you will se a big difference in the odor.

It has to do with the amount of ammonia in your pee. Have you changed your diet lately? Are you drinking or eating anything new? Did you take anything out? What about new medications? They switched my medication to a generic when it came out, and it definitely made my pee smell more strongly.

What you eat is a big factor in how strong urine smells. Just like Mike Myers in Goldfinger in the scene where he ate asparagus and the guy was able to smell him peeing lol.

just depends on the contents of your bladder and what is excreted. for example, if your dehydrated a moderate amount, when you pee it will be a darker color and smell bad. also certain drinks or foods or anything that can come out in pee for that matter break down differently in the body making it smell nasty

Um...it's PEE! It's supposed to smell! :D
Kidding...
Drink more water. Asparagus makes pee smell stronger, so cut back on that if you're on an asparagus binge.

Pee is sterile inside your bladder but as it goes through your urinal tract it picks up bacteria and stuff.
If you eat lots of spicy foods, onions, berocca, or other vitamins or have an infection then your pee may smell. because your urinary tract cells will somehow secrete this smell ~
