What you are asking about is "late term abortions." Problem is, people define that in different ways. For some, it's any abortion after 12 weeks, for others its 16 weeks.
Nearly all pregnancies are viable (i.e. baby can live outside the womb) after the 27th week. So I would say that the latest abortions done would be around 27 weeks. These would be the "partial-birth abortion" procedures, where labor is induced, the baby is partially delivered, its skull is pierced and the brains collapsed, then the child is pulled the rest of the way out.
Here are the U.S. Statistics from 2003:
6.2% of abortions were conducted from 13 to 15 weeks 4.2% from 16 to 20 weeks
1.4% at or after 21 weeks
Because the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's annual study on abortion statistics does not calculate the exact gestational age for abortions performed past the 20th week, there is no exact data for the number of abortions performed AFTER viability. In 1997, the Guttmacher Institute estimated the number of abortions in the U.S. past 24 weeks to be 0.08%, or approximately 1,032 per year

well if you can call it abortion at 28 weeks that is the latest they will do it and it is actually giving birth they basically induce you. In no way shape or form would I do this, If you need help you should know with in a month. Personally with all the options in to days world there is no reason for abortion unless the Doctor finds something serious.

it depends on the state and reason for the abortion.if it is a case of the mothers life it can be done until very late in the pregnancy.most are done within the first 3 months but there is really no reason to wait that long you can detect pregnancy within days.it is only cruel to let the baby grow and develop just to kill it.

That depends on where the clinic is located.

I'm not sure. I believe it varies depending on your state and country. I thought it was usually too late after 12 weeks though.
