Can anyone name some songs that are kind of eery? Or powerful? Examples are Sowing Season by Brand New and Ghost of you by My Chemical Romance.

Any song by Depeche Mode or The Cure. Not exactly life inspiring music for me. I won't say it's bad music since millions of people listen to them so they must be doing something right. But for me personally, I want to jump out of a 7 story building when I hear any of this music. I need good ol' classic rock to get me inspired. None of those songs leave me with an eery feeling, minus Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin. But that is nothing compared to the groups above.

LOL, if you find that eerie, then just wait 'til you discover goth! Especially darkwave.
I suggest the songs A Girl Called Harmony and Two Gods, both by Attrition.
Maybe also Charlotte Sometimes by The Cure, Jasmine and Rose by Clan of Xymox, and Lucretia My Reflection (either version) by the Sisters of Mercy.
Much better than that MCR crap. XD

Maybe this is just me, but that Chris Isaak song "Wicked Game" has always had a very "stalker in the bushes with chloroform" feel to me.

umm, for some reason a song i love, cure for the itch/linkin park, reminds me of death, and dig by incubus for some reason...there are more...i dont remember them
and it depends what you mean by powerful...as in i love it so much i listen to it repeatedly without hating the song? that would be wonderwall by oasis, bittersweet symphony by the verve, and pressure suite by aqualung! yum...and the LP version of Despeche Mode's Enjoy the Silence.
