I have a 5 gallon tank with some cherry shrimp and I want a dwarf gouramis but I'm afraid he might eat the cherry shrimp. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I haven't kept them together, but the shrimp are probably to big for the dwarf gourami to consider them food. Personally, I think they would be safe together.

instead of getting cherry shrimp which are a bit more expensive. Why not go for ghost shrimp? That really depends on the personality of your dwarf gourami. i've had experiences in both ends in the past. Once my neon blue dwarf gourami ate all the ghost shrimp in the tank, I had another tank with the same kind of gourami but it didn't eat the ghost shrimp.

As was said before it's also possible that you could get guppies instead. At least for sure they wont eat the shrimp. Or Why not try a different type of shrimp? perhaps soemthing like a wood/bamboo shrimp? They are filter feeders however, so they'll need supplements. They are fun to watch though. (i can't guarantee that your gourami won't harass them however)

im gona say dont dont try it. shrimp are fragile an grouramis can be a bit "picky" i mean they tend to pick on over fish.even the dwarf ones. so i wouldnt try it.guppies will probably do the same thing. sorry you should just get another little tank and get a couple of dwarf gouramis! good luck

They'd get eaten.

A five gallon is really too small for a dwarf gourami. Why don't you get some 2-3 guppies insted?

See you very final question for some concepts. Rn tetras will do super, alongside with the fairly some pygmy plecos. i could use warning with the clown pleco, as they're omnivorous and extremely territorial. you may maximum probable lose some shrimp to those adult men. The pitbull pleco could be almost appropriate, yet there could be opposition for nutrients. it is going to be pleased with the frogs, yet i could watch them for a whilst to make effective.
