There will always be religious radicals like the current religious right who hate freedom for others and wish to destroy what America is.
The responsibility for preventing these people from gaining power lies withthe voters. It's up to us to work to get candidates who deserve to hold public office. If we don't--no one will do it for us.

Wow--you ARE on a tear tonight, aren't you? Religion and state have been nicely separated for some time. The fact that we still have debates about it is a GOOD sign. It means we are working to maintain a balance.
The radicals who are Islamic (not all of Islam) want to destroy us not just because we are a nation that's largely Christians (whether that affects our politics or not) but also because we are progressive. We have equal rights, we allow women to drive and travel alone, we enjoy movies and TV shows with even mild sexual content, etc. Oh--and because we put army bases on their "holy land." Just "separating church and state" further than they're already separated wouldn't make a dent in that hatred.

that is between the main cheating questions/statements i've got seen in right here. You p.c.. n choose for issues to back you up out of articles which you do no longer hyperlink to. you are able to no longer whinge approximately indoctrination produced by employing yet another team (YOUR thought right here) once you're preserving that is totally properly that your team does it. Are you effective you at the instant are not a flesh presser? They play this 2-confronted BS each and all the time.... easily atheism isn't dropping #'s.... they at the instant are not gaining plenty the two. Non-religious is what's gaining momentum. in simple terms look at Europe, the place Christianity is dropping #'s fairly in the present day, fairly interior the face of each and every of the abuse it relatively is come forward. The states have additionally seen a marginally super drop in Christianity interior the final decade... properly over 10% of a drop.... that's now counted as Non-religious. and easily, i'm become self reliant from you. no longer because of the fact i do no longer think in any very own gods.... yet because of the fact your faith, if i anticipate properly *thinking you're squaring off atheism vs Christianity right here* that it relatively is Christianity.... has declared every person who isn't a Christian as an enemy. Why could i desire to be linked with your team in any respect??? whilst all it does it create enemies of folk in accordance with whether or no longer they have faith? Edit: to others right here - the legal defintion of religion interior the States incorporates agnosticism and atheism. would not count in case you disagree with it or that the dictionary would not agree..... to be sure that atheism and agnosticism to be secure below the risk-free practices of the U. S. shape, it had to be legally defined as faith. Getting disillusioned with this guy whilst the friggin the court docket of Appeals did it relatively is fairly stupid

this country was founded by various religious peoples who set the foundations based on religious morals to separate that from our state would be to destroy half of our policies. and those radicals you speak of use religion as a scape goat they are really just mad because they can't be as industrious as america. why should we be blamed for bringing peoples from all around the world to one place where together they prospered and built a nation the world had only dreamed of, man i think this country has forgotten itself. who else in the world can openly complain and ***** about their government and economy. free men who hate being free, what a joke!

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, OR PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF;"
You can not stop people from practicing their religion. The 1st Amendment was established to prevent the creatation of an official religion (such as the Church of England), but also to guarentee freedom of religion.

Please tell me where "separation of church and state" appears in the Constitution..............it doesn't! Our country was founded on Christian beliefs and our country was great at that time. Now the secular progressives are removing the Christian God out of everything, and our country is going down the tubes.

What part of religion do you really think is in our government? The ACLU pretty much has made sure that Christianity has no place in any public place, while they fight to have foot baths put in public universities for the muslims. I am pretty sure you have no idea what you are talking about with your loaded question.
