I was thinking the same thing the other day! There are lots of them out there. Macy Gray is a definite. I guess the sound of a person's voice becomes familiar and the listener becomes almost addicted to the song. They request it so they can have their voice fix. Gravelly voices like Tom Wait and Tina Turner and Rod Stewart are immediately recognizable. Look at the popularity of Louis Armstrong and Billie Holiday. Everyone in the world could identify them in three notes or less. Best of luck to you!!

Because to makeup for their weird voices and looks they have to have good songs,I also think people like them more because they are all rebels.

Because it's different. Why do you think people trash boy groups? They all sound the same. Different = good.
