My son is traveling to Italy in Sept to study abroad. His college is affiliated with the IES program. It's called the INSTITUTE FOR THE INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION OF STUDENTS...and has been actively sponsoring students since 1950.

The countries that open their doors to exchange students from the US are: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Chile', Ecuador, England, France, Germany, India, Italy, Ireland, Japan, The Netherlands, New Zealand, and Spain.

They also allot $2 million dollars in scholarships and financial aid packages.

local: 312 944-1750

I hope this information has been helpful for you. Best wishes on your trip abroad as an exchange student.

AFS (American Field Service) and YFU (Youth For Understanding) are the most popular, reputable agencies.

Being an exchange student is a very enriching experience! You will know the family for the rest of your life and truly broaden your horizons. Have fun!
