I'm in Calif. just north of the Golden Gate. Went through San Fernando down in L.A. in 1971, Loma Prieta 1989 (was living in the Marina), and Northridge down south. I've lost count of the little ones.

Most quakes aren't bad at all and it's going to take something like Peru's right under the Bay Area or most other Calif. cities to stop the local world. The big difference between them and us is building codes. It's night and day between here and developing countries.

Plenty of camping supplies (backpacking and car camping), about 1.5 weeks of water for a family of 5, and our larder's always fairly full, call it 1 week-2 weeks worth with rationing. So, if the house is still standing, the family will be pretty comfortable. About the only thing I don't have lying around is a stash of cash.

Also, a nice thing to have when the power's gone is that old rotary phone. If the phone service is still up (non-cell tower based), I'll have a phone to use as thier powered from the lines.

Also, I try to keep a minimum of a half tank of gas in each of the cars. Then there's the 5 gal can for the mower, chainsaw, etc.

moderately, I live on the Madrid Fault line and EMS workers have stepped up training of teachers, daycare workers, community leaders.... our famous Reel foot Lake was formed by an earthquake many years ago, we really expect Memphis to be severely affected. I have medical supplies and water which I replace with new supplies often. We were told to expect to keep the children in our care for at least 6 days before making parental contact and I try to be prepared, but I guess one can never be too prepared!!

I live in Texas and no to be honest, i wouldn't be prepared, for some reason our battery's totally disappear...our flash lights always get broken some how and we go eat everything in the house then go shopping, so we never have extra supply of food....lol....it's awful....i guess i always think nothing will happen but i guess i should think about this and prepare just in case, cause you never know.....

Grace unto you, and peace,
from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Such "law worketh wrath" happens to "them": 1Thess 5:3.
God(Grace) hath not appointed "us" to wrath: 1Thess 5:9.

No escape for them: 1Thessalonians 5:3
How shall we escape: Hebrews 2

Perhaps it's either no law or no escape

The GRACE of our Lord JC with you all. Amen.

No one is really truly prepared. You just do the best you can with what you have at the time.
