I'd be on here all night and day making recommendations.
I would suggest going to the Time-Life Music web site and seeing what tracks (songs) are on their oldies compliation cd's . Those songs are usually among the most popular ones of that particular era.

its a MR Big song and i think its called 2 be with you. i love it.
and i love the song american pie i cant remember who sang it tho.

they are really old songs that my mum listens to but they are really good!!!

But my favourite song of all time is Guns and Roses - sweet child of mine!!!!!!
