Our house was built over 100 years ago. We are having the bathroom redone and all of the walls were tore down. An antler was found over the door, between the walls. I do not know if it was placed there when the house was built or later during a renovation. Has anyone heard of a superstition regarding this?

Not sure of a superstition, but have you looked at the symbol side of it? To some religions, antlers are used to symbolize the god of the woods or of the hunt. Or just god in general. but why above the bathroom door? That's funny. Usually stuff like that is hung above the front door, not hidden in a wall. You've got me on this one, but try looking up antlers and symbols in google together...

electric powered and lighting fixtures are basic fixes (in case you do no longer comprehend what you're doing, although, be advantageous to hunt for professional assistance), yet take it sluggish to truly evaluate the living house to work out what else desires to be fastened as nicely as what else you need. achieveable desires which could get costly: -insulation -replace living house windows and/or doors -replace broken plaster (or are you able to purely skim-coat it) -are there pests or termites (maximum elderly homes a minimum of have mice) -heating/cooling gadget(s) -new roof achieveable needs: -larger closets -area for a dishwasher interior the kitchen -a greater suitable overall format of the living house -a greater useable basement -an addition (case in point, a den or relatives room with a grasp bathtub above it to supply you a 2nd bathtub?) What human beings mandatory from their homes returned then is amazingly diverse than what we are looking forward to now. It additionally relies upon on how plenty money you may want first of all. in case you have the money in one lump sum (or could have it in a 300 and sixty 5 days or 2, while a shape loan regularly is due) and function a place to stay while you paintings on the living house, you may desire to heavily think of approximately rebuilding. The greater paintings you're able to do yourselves, the greater fee-effective it's going to be... as long as you already know what you're doing. there's no longer something greater annoying to a contractor than coming in to do a job you have already tried and botched. My husband and that i very own a 1890 living house which desires quite a number of paintings (to boot to our "wishlist" - like a 2nd bathtub and room for a dishwasher!) and because sources it is so costly, we opted to purchase and fasten up over the years as shall we no longer handle to pay for the preliminary lump fee of a clean living house. We had previously looked at construction from scratch and can perhaps try this at a later date, yet for now, this grew to become into our determination. a minimum of as quickly as we are "accomplished" it may nonetheless have most of the unique character that made us fall in love with it interior the 1st place!
