To achieve true happiness one must give up desire. We are unhappy because we want things. Our finances are in a mess because we want more. Our lives are in a mess because we want more. The world is in a mess because we want more. Stop the desire and true happiness will follow instantly. Sadly. it is probably not possible in our society. We are told, over and over again from birth, that we must have this and that and we are not good enough if we don't have the latest clothes, the fastest car, the biggest house and all the other garbage we work ourselves to death to own. But to be honest, I'm as guilty as anyone else.
