that usually helps a lot, if its too big and sticks out into the back of your mouth u could cut the ends off but other than that i don't think there's anything else
edit: yea forgot to tell u to bite down, usually your coach or whoever told you to boil it in water would have mentioned that with telling you to boil it but w/e

first boil water and put it in for 30 seconds then take it out of the water, shake it a bit and put in in you mouth bite down and it will mold to you teeth. you might want to cut it down on the back to fit your mouth before you put it in the water.

Bite down on the mouthpiece and suck the water out around your teeth. It will be hot right away, but you'll survive.

Mine said 12 seconds, ten if you have braces.

As for dentist's models, I paid $2.49 for a boil it one. I doubt $2.49 would pay for the phone call to make the appointment for the mold. I did have a custom made one made for boxing, but since have just used the one I fit myself with no probs. I also have used them for hockey.

The best mouth piece to have is one from your dentist. They make it from a mold of your teeth and it fits a lot better then the ones you get from the store. It also stays in better than the store bought ones and is more comfortable.
