Agree. Whatever you are prideful about is a *lingering* self-assured satisfaction about that thing, and if you are busy thinking about how great you are, you are not paying attention to this very moment, this *now*, and are instead fancying delusions about times gone by.

In other words, if you are busy being prideful, you are not being mindful and skillful in regards to that which which invoked your pride in the first place.

Pride can be a good or a bad thing. It all depends on the object of one's pride. One similarly could argue that jealously is not always a bad thing. One must define what is meant by these terms. Taking pride in one's child or being properly jealous over one's mate is not necessarily a bad thing.

depends on the type of pride, pride in one's own attributes is a sin, but pride in one's work? nothing wrong with that.

so I'll have to say, pride is a sin, but damn it feels so nice.

Who are "they"? and who are "they to say?
I strongly disagree.
Pride is a positive characteristic and everyone needs a healthy portion of it.
My dictionary says it is "satisfaction of ones achievements or qualities. so there! :=)

on a stupid note, I didn't know they made egos in my size. 5'5" and done growing.
