I assume that you mean jump shooter or player who can covert from long range. I think that you need to know more basketball if you think J.J. Redick is the best shooter ever... Does being able to make it when guarded count for anything? I would think so.

To select some of the finest pure shooters ever, I would have to include Larry Bird, Reggie Miller, Ray Allen, Steve Kerr, Chris Mullin, Steve Nash, etc. You will notice that most of these players had excellent shooting form at the free throw line and were among the best to convert from there. When Michael Jordan perfected his jump shot, you could include him in this bunch - no shooter was better from 20 feet in. Dirk Nowitzki is one of the best shooting big men ever. Patrick Ewing had a great jump shot for a 7 footer.

Best shooter "ever", meaning of all time? That's a no-brainer. Look at the silhouette on the NBA logo and that's your man - Mr. Clutch Jerry West. A close - very close - second would be Larry Bird and third is Reggie Miller. Sorry but Redick won't even make the top 20.

Larry Bird! He delivers when it counts the most. Put all the best shooters in a 3 point shooting contest and everybody will be fighting for 2nd!

JJ is probably the 2nd best college shooter ever. #1 would be Pistol Pete!

Reggie Miller will probably finish 2nd!

1 Reggie Miller
2 Ray Allen
3 Michael Jordan
4 Larry Bird
5 Jerry West

I think Reggie's the best shooter of all time because he's the best 3 pt shooter ever, and is clutch.

Bird.

He could bury a game winner from anywhere on the court, and even tell his opponent beforehand where he was going to shoot from... didn't matter, he'd nail it anyway.

Heck, Bird was even a better shooter than Reddick in college...and Bird didn't have the 3 point shot when he played at Indiana State.

bird, nash, and peja all make good arguments...not redick...he hasn't really proven himself except at the NCAA level, where he was good, but only behind the college arc...all levels...here u go
reggie miller or steve kerr...or robert horry??? hahaha no, not horry...technically...Shaq's taken two 3's (check on youtube), and he made one...so his career average for 3's is 50%....i think that's the best....hahaha

Best "Shooter" ever.

I'm a Jordan fan, but he was a scorer, there is a difference.

My list is:

Larry Bird
Dale Ellis
Reggie Miller
Ray Allen
