Many ways to Lower Blood pressure
*LOTS of rest
*when stressed out/frustrated take 10 deep breaths
*eat healthy (ALOT of bananas)
*soak and take a bubble bath rather than standing in a shower
*Go to bed early

This is very common--it happened to me, too. I had to be hospitalized a few times when it went too high.

A good portion of HBP is caused by water retention, and pregnant ladies are really good at that, huh? That means cut down on the salt (do not eliminate it) and have a little caffiene (a natural diuretic) every day.

Keep your feet up anytime you can, don't spend large amounts of time on your feet, and sleep on your left side, at least when you first go to bed. Sleeping on the right side isn't as good for baby, back side, either, because certain blood sources are slightly limited by those positions. Left side is good, feet up, good.

You may worry about the caffiene, and maybe your dr. limits your intake, but you have to remember our moms drank cup after cup of coffee when we were buns in the oven. I turned out just fine (tho they did say my first word was coffee..). Not too much caffiene because getting hyper isn't good, either. Plenty of water, because getting dehydrated is an absolute no-no.

Best wishes with your punkin,

If your doctor didn't give you suggestions, he/she likely isn't worried yet about your increase in blood pressure. Your body is under stress and a slight rise is normal. That said, you'll want to eat carefully keep your weight gain under control, and find things that refresh and relax you. In the middle of the second trimester I got laid off, but the good news was that my blood pressure dropped from not having to be in such a stress filled job situation. So don't stress over your blood pressure!
