there's an ok one that was popular for a while called "deltora quest" about three people that go on a quest to find i think 8 stones that make up gems on a belt. i never finished it... i heard the ending was pretty good...

there's another REALLY GOOD series that i'm reading called "the percy jackson and the olympians" about a boy who finds out he's half god. it's REALLY good. the first book, "the lightning theif," has won ALOT of awards. the series is actually becoming almost a craze; i remember some people this year were like "i hear she's got the new book!" and stuff about this one girl (the titans curse). i also really like the twist at the end of the first book...

there's the lord of the rings which is PROBABLY really good considoring that the movie got 11 oscars!

hmm...there's also that eragon and eldest series (the two giant books), alot of people like that series... i've never read it...

plz plz make my answer the best answer :)

Some good fantasy/magical series are Tamora Pierce's "Magic Circle" (which consists of 2 quartets - one of when the 4 mages are young and one where they are about four years older - and the novel 'Will of the Empress'), Christopher Paolini's 'Inheritance' trilogy (the third book should be coming out sometime soon), J.R.R. Tolkein's 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy and its prequel "The Hobbit", Terry Goodkind's 'Sword of Truth' books (he's up to like 11 or 12 now, and they are NOT short reads), and the Stephen Lawhead's new 'King Raven' trilogy (the second book of which should be coming out this September). Another few good ones to try are Patricia C. Wrede's 'Enchanted Forest Chronicles', Merecedes Lackey's 'Dragon Jousters' quartet, Patricia Brigg's duet "Dragon Bones" and "Dragon Blood", and if you want something a little different (I'd describe it as historical fantasy) then try Naomi Novik's 'Temeraire' series.

Can anyone tell I have a reading obsession?

Well, Sporty, Start with Stephen King's "Lisey's Story". I
consider it one of his best. You have to start with the first
book or you will be lost in the others. It is one long story in seven novels, Several of the last ones are 800 pages long.
and over twenty years in the making. 8})>
1. The Gunslinger.
2. Drawing of the three.
3. The Wastelands.
4. Wizard and glass.
5. Wolves of Calla.
6. Song of Susannah.
7. The Dark Tower.
You can get all these books in bookstores. <}:-})

OMG. >.< Twelve Kingdoms, a.k.a Juuni Kokki. <-- Japanese name. I've only watched the anime, but its based off a book series thats been called better. From the anime, its such a complex world!! And what great character development. :3 You can find the first few episodes on tv-links.co.uk, but if you're still interested, then contact me and I'll tell you where to find the rest.

Also, Eragon Inheritance Trilogy. XD The last book is coming out soon (I think and hope).

I've also read the Star Wars books, based off the movies. And I like 'em.

Ella Enchanted(Sorry it's not a series) by Gail Carson Levine
Mrs. PiggleWiggle by Betty MacDonald
Pippi Longstocking by Astrid Lindgren

(they are all in the same series and by Edward Eager and the ones I have read are good)

not all of these have magic in them but they are ALL really good!!!!!

Just about anything by David (& Leigh) Eddings; The Belgariad and The Mallorean total ten great books (five books each). It's similar to Harry Potter ~ a young man discovers he is the latest in a line of powerful wizards, destined to battle an evil god in order to bring order to the universe. Well written, with a rather wry sense of humour.

The Lord of the rings trilogy, which has a lot of other books that go with it. there is The Hobbit, and a few other background books one which just came out. Anything by J.R.R. Tolkein, or his son Christopher is AWESOME and is along the same lines as Chronicles of Narnia.
