John Beck, Drew Stanton, Trent Edwards, Troy Smith, Chris Leak?
Edit: I didn't put Brady Quinn or J.Russel because they will either be better or busts at this point

gypsy there is no way Troy can be like Akili he was drafted in the fifth round. If he ends up being bad then it was good he was drafted in the fifth but he could be the next Tom Brady as well so you can't rule that out either!

Quinn and Russell not in the list is understandable; but why you did not put Kevin Kolb neither? Considering how injury-prone McNabb has become, he has the best chance to start this season.
Kolb would be my pick. But among the ones you mentioned, I'd take Trent Edwards as the one with the best potential to be a good backup.
Stanton takes too many big hits and in the NFL level, he'll get hurt after the first snap.
John Beck in 3-5 years will be on the wrong side of the 30s. By the time he gets NFL experience, he'll be physically past-of-his-prime.
Troy Smith does not have a good arm for the NFL.
Chris Leak looks more like a RB than a QB.

John Beck definitely, he will get to play in 3-5 years after Green is gone from Miami. Chris Leak probably will never play, Troy Smith might be decent but not good, Drew Stanton is on the Lions and Trent Edwards just not him.

I like Beck's chances. I don't see Trent Green staying more than a year or two. That will give him time to mature. Cam Cameron's offense should be tailor made for him. I'm not sure he will be great, but he could be solid enough to make Miami a contender. I don't give Troy Smith or Chris Leak much chance at all. I'll be shocked if Russell lasts more than 2-3 years. Quinn's in a good position, but it depends who Cleveland's next coach is after Romeo gets fired after this year. I wouldn't bet the farm on Quinn being great, either. I hope some of these guys prove me wrong.

Beck. Beck is in a good situation in Miami, and he seems to have the talent and brains to take advantage eventually.
Stanton has a long, long way to go to become starter material. He gets injured a lot, and more importantly, his mechanics and accuracy are awful. Having that many bad habits is hard for anyone to fix.
Trent Edwards is talented, but I'm not sure he'll ever get his shot. He's actually faster than Troy Smith, believe it or not.
Troy Smith and Chris Leak just don't have the talent. They have insufficient accuracy to be top NFL passers.

Troy Smith. He wasn't supposed to be a good college QB(recruited as an athlete) and he went on to win the heisman. He is a couple inches to short, but he is thick, so he can play the pro game. He has a strong enough arm, and improved every year he was in college, and I have no reason to doubt he will do the same in the pros. Second best I would say Stanton, because he is competitive, like Smith.

I believe Stanton will be the best. He has the tools at Receiver, Roy Williams and Calvin Johnson. 2 Good RB's in Jones and Bell. The only thing he has to do is learn the Lion's playbook. Throw the ball down field. Stanton is not slow, so he has a little maneuvering in the pocket. He is young and diffently better than Kitna. I really liked Stanton at MSU. He just needs a year in the offense and he will be a monster next year.

I say Drew Stanton is the real deal of this bunches, he got the size at 6"4 and 220 lbs and a cannon of an arm. He got the most upside of all these rookies QB. And his throwing mechanic is so sound, it's remind me of Carson Palmer went he was coming out of USC 3 years ago.
