Now remember, in your classic zombie stories only head shots count. So in a crowd of people, a good 12 gauge pump shotgun with a short barrel is a wonderful thing. A semi-auto one would be great too. At close range, say 20 yards or less, the shotgun will do good work on head shots too. Beyond that though, you need to start thinking about a rifle. Something small and light. You don't need a big blasting cartridge. Merely one to penetrate the skull and destroy the brain. A .223 type rifle like the Mini-14 or an AR-15 would work great. Accessories? High capacity magazines and a bayonet for stabbing zombies in the head. For really close in work, a high capacity semi-auto handgun in 9mm would be my choice. A Glock 17 or Beretta 92 would work great.

I am an N-scale home-enthusiast, and work at an HO-scale club, AND design / build in both scales as my business...

Sorry to say I see NO interest.

Perhaps there might be a VERY narrow interest around Halloween for window-displays in stores...
