What would I need to protect in my backpack? My lunch? I'd rather buy a bullet proof vest than spend money on a bullet proof backpack.

I can't imagine why somebody would need a bullet proof backpack. It might be a novelty to have, but I wouldn't buy one if it was more expensive than similarly priced backpacks.

Very sad that it has come to this. I am a teacher and honestly, there were days when I would have felt better having one.

Lord, I think we start incorporating everyone in the education process. Not just the school, but the parents as well.

This is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. I think these guys are just ripping you off. Of course, your kids will want one because they are so cool. Being a good parent I am sure you will buy one.

Why don't we just dress our kids in suits of armor and drive them everywhere in an armored car.

I know life has changed since I was a kid, but this protection thing is just going to far.

I have a feeling they are marketed based on fear and are essentially a strange "status" symbol like a new pair of Nike shoes.

definately. it IS sad, but...the sad truth is that american schools aren't safe anymore. and if i can give my kid even ONE chance to survive in case some idiot open fires, i think the $175 is well spent. ANYONE KNOW WHERE YOU CAN BUY THEM?
