Psychology Today published a study that surveyed over 500 Human Resource managers and over 150 college admissions counselors at competitive admission universities. The results showed that a person’s first name was a large factor in determining whether or not a person made it past the initial screening process for hiring or admission. People with odd or unusual or exotic names were more likely to be rejected while people with certain names – which Psychology Today termed “power names” – were more likely to pass the initial screening. Here are the top ten “power names” as rated by Psychology Today.

3. Aimee
4. Elizabeth
5. Mary

William Blanton....sounds dignified. You can call him Bill Blanton....sounds like a popular boy at school.
Something soft for a girl's first name since Blanton sounds rather strong. Maybe Kimberly, Angelique, Barbara (ohh, that sounds like a movie star name).

I like Emily for a girl and Michael for a boy, if you want something traditional.
A little more trendy, I like Mackenzie for a girl, and Xavier for a boy
Im sure there are many others I could think of but those were the first that popped into my head.
