I am having a sleep over, and (with girls 11-12) I was planning on playing the movie "small soldiers". I understand it has a PG-13 rating. There is one girl inparticular that has very strict parents- you know, they are strict about the whole ratings on movies and such. Can someone tell me what is in the movie that causes it to have this rating?

And if there are any scary parts (I know it is supposed to be a kid's movie and all, and I really haven't seen the whole thing yet, but I REALLY don't want to deal with parents calling complaining about their kid having nightmares) if there are scary scenes can you give me a "vivid" description of what happens?

Thank you so much!!

the only thing kinda scary would be when the barbie dolls are brought to life and they are all deformed and they basically tye the girl down on the bed but ny nephews used to love the movie when they were 3 and 4 yrs old so i think it will be an ok movie for girls that age

SEX/NUDITY- Male dolls make verbal advances toward female dolls.

VIOLENCE/GORE- Dolls attack humans and other dolls in hordes. Humans are hit by darts and nails shot by the dolls, a man is stabbed in the leg with a toy knife and a doll sets a man's pants on fire by shooting a torch. Some toys are destroyed by slamming them onto a wall. Lots of property damage is caused by the dolls shooting various weapons (trees and telephone poles are knocked down and catch fire). A toy car full of dolls explodes destroying them, a doll is electrocuted and dolls are destroyed by a lawn mower. A doll is shown in pieces after an attack. A man punches another man in the face. A boy hangs from a power pole. Some of the dolls look freakish, mean and scary.

PROFANITY 3 - About 5 anatomical references, 4 scatological terms, about 10 mild obscenities and several insults.

Hope that helps!

As a mom of two boys I would say yeah that it would be okay to play cause there are no nude scences barely any swearing and it is just a good movie . and I would run it by the parents of the one child and let them know what you will be showing just to make everyone on the up and up . good luck and bless you for having a slumber party with all girls LOL 1!1 also aquamarine is a good movie as well .

It's a stupid movie IMO. Watch something like Jumanji which is similar, but far more entertaining and I don't think it has violence except for maybe some monkies jumping on cars or something. Or anything from Pixar like Finding Nemo, etc.

ok i dont think its PG-13 just PG(i think) and ther is nothing scaryin it. its a good acton/little romace/comedy movie and u shouldnt worry about anything.......as far as telling u the story??? well these invetors put a 'smart' chip in the toys brains and they start learning and becomeing smart and this team wants to take out the aposing team (gorgan) or somethin and this guy gets caught up in between this fight.

that is if ur talking about the 1998 movie

small soldiers is a perfectly fine for that age of girls. my friends parents were really strict even about disney movies to watch when she use to come over when we were younger, but that movie is chill. it might be a little scary for kids like four when all these dolls attack kirsten dunst, but that movie is fine.
