I suggest around 3 months after the 18-20 week ultrasound just to confirm all is fine most things that will go wrong normally do in the first 3 months so the ultrasound will pick it up.Unfortunately I speak with experience and yes went out and brought heaps and bad news came when that ultrasound detected that my little girl had a hypo plastic heart basically chambers to her little heart were not developed, nothing could be done, and yes I had to give birth to this little girl at 29 weeks! since this tradgedy I have had 2 beautiful girls who are now 12 and 10 but learnt my lesson I waited and then went mad brought heaps and loved it!!!!

Well, it depends on what type of a person yopu are. If you like to have things planned and want everything to be perfect a month before the baby comes (just to be safe), you can get started at any time. if you want to know the sex of the baby, then I suggest you find out and then start buying things. If you don't want to know until the birthing, then buy things in yellow or green (which I recomend even if you do know the sex), and neutral outfits. A few good stores for such clothing are:

Gymboree
Baby Gap
Mommy and Me
The Children's Place

Hope I helped!

will i just start buying few things like Car seat and baby crib and pack diapers just to make sure if the baby wanted to come out early. And going to buy the rest in few weeks. I would wait till everything is set with baby and you know the baby is growing and that it health. because if something happen and you got all the baby stuff you be upset.

I am 32 weeks..(so 8 months)

I didn't buy things until after my baby shower at about 8 months... That way I didn't have so much to take back after the baby shower! My friend started buying as soon as she knew the sex of the baby and ended up doing trip after trip to the store to return gifts that were identical to what she had already purchased, it was really a pain for her...

from 12weeks onwards a started picking up small things but when it came 2 my 20weeks i went baby shopping mad and got everything because then i also knew what i was having so i could have the colours i wanted
but i would say wait till atleast 12weeks then start buying small(anything before 12weeks could result in miscarriage after 12weeks is out of danger zone) but main thing 2 do is save as much money as u can then when u build up enough money go spend it on some baby stuff

I was in the last trimester... somewhere around the 7-month mark. I still felt good enough to shop, but at that point the baby's chances of survival were better if I went into early labor or there were complications, so I felt like it was safe to start gathering the baby things.

As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I never bought gender specific items until later. I found alot of great baby items on clearance and on sale. I would just walk through the baby section of whatever store we were at and see if I could get a deal. We did get some great items on clearance. I found a crib set marked down from 90 to 10 at JC penny.

I tried to hold off until I knew the gender and also waited to get a lot of stuff until after my shower. I bought a few things here and there all along if they were too cute to resist. We probably bought the crib and that sort of stuff around 7 months. We stretched it out over several months so it wouldn't kill our budget. Have fun!

I bought a few things after I knew the sex of my baby. But I really didn't buy much until after she was born. I was fortunate that I got most of the things that I need early on at my baby showers. I was lucky enough to have 3 showers.
