NOte ; Light by nature is totally an invisible micromass structure. The Universe appears dark and it seems that nothing exists between the volumes of stars and Galaxies.
However there are so many photons dancing around in a String sequence in the space of the Universe and they are totally invisible to us ,we see them as dark.
Our biolgical life spans is not Kaziilions of years. WE cannot know the nature of the substance of space. Perhaps the substance of space has a dual nature of being a particle and a wave with inherent energy causing the gravitational phenomena.WE just were not there during creation to withness how our Creator of the Universe structured the substance of space inside a little Corner of Heavens where he chose to locate the Volume of the Universe.
We are only little students of Cosmology and We are not THE CREATORS OF THE UNIVERSE.
The Biblical record of Creation state the Fact of Creation.
Science,The Big Bang theory,Elaborates on the fact of Creation.
Both Scientists and Creationist agree that the Universe did not Create itself out of nothing;but it Was our Creator that Created the Substance of the Heaven and the subtance of the Earth.

there are many theories of creation out there.
The one I tend to believe is that there was NEVER nothing.
Time has always existed, just not HERE until the big bang.
This dimension (the time and energy that WE can see = aka Big bang) was formed when two sets of OTHER dimensions collided with each other. seperated by containments called "membranes"
If you got this URL and check out a show called "Parallel Universes" it will explain the theory I'm talking about in more detail.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4183875433858020781&q=Parallel+Universes&total=1159&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=5
It doesn't touch the topic of the big bang until about halfway through, but definitely worth a watch or 2 or 3 or 4
It just seems a little to human to assume there was beginning and that there is an end to something so large, powerful and overwhelming as the universe.
also, I did NOT believe in god at all, until I've heard of this theory, now I can't say its impossible since ALL possibilities are out there somewhere

there was never just nothing. the big bang theory says that all the energy in the universe was in 1 super dense ball, it exploded, formed quarks, those formed atoms. now i personally dont accept that this was the start of time, that makes no sense. but i also dont accept that some all powerful being said "let there be light" and photons came into existence, the big bang theory makes more sense than that.
and as to the dude that was talking about multiple universe's. the m theory is about as rediculous as scientology. there are multiple universe's enclosed in a bubble like membrane, and 2 of them collided and caused the big bang? give me a break thats idiotic.

no one said everything arised from nothing. according to THEORY, the universe before the big bang was infinitely hot and dense. that means there was an infinite amount of matter and energy, or it was in an infinitely small space. theory points to the small space. since it was so massive, the universe was unstable (all of thi is theory i will remind you) and created dark energy, which drove the universe apart. as far as people arriving from nothing, is it just you getting the big bang theory mixed up or are you anti creationist? =P matter came from the big bang (in theory) and began to condense into stars and planets around the stars. eventually, molecules began to form on the planets, and eventually (in theory) these molecules became so complex that they were able to make more of themselves. these (in theory) were the first life forms. so nothing came from nothing, everything came from everything that was already there =)

Well its all theories, but as most scientists say, matter and energy cannot be created or destroyed. That would mean that something existed for ever. That something being matter and energy. The energy and matter that was present gazillions of years ago is exactly in the same amount as it is now.
