I just bought a gallon of milk for $4.60. It wasn't long ago that I was paying $2.00 per gallon. What happened?

Because all of the feed grain that was once going to the dairy farms to feed the cows- is NOW starting to go into making Ethenol for our CARS... SO,-less food, means fewer cows, and less (& more EXPENSIVE) milk. So there's our "choice" -cheap gas, & more expensive milk (AND meat, AND eggs, AND bread...). Personally- I think it's just a clever trick invented by the Bush Administration- to put us ALL on a diet (whether we need to- or not). Let's see what happens after the Election... :)

This article claims the prices are rising because of the recent increase in demand for milk in China:

I've also heard it's due to decreased US production of milk.

The cows in California are on strike. They want better hay and health benefits. And they don't think it's funny when they get milked by a guy with a leather jacket on.
