Todays blog:

"Our accommodation is a very modest family home and, most definitely, not a luxury villa, as was reported in one of the Portuguese newspapers yesterday. I can confirm that it does not have a swimming pool, 2 storeys and in fact was amongst the cheapest accommodation available, at short notice, in Luz in August. I would also like to point out that Madeleines fund has not paid for any of our accommodation in Portugal."

How come everywhere I turn, everything is NOT being paid for by the fund, but has been donated. If no-one is paying for anything, why do they need a million quid?

They dont need the money, people are willingly donating it. As for defending themselves... look at how people speak about them here in a regular basis....

Dave you are itching to see the company accounts in 18 months time when we will all be able to access them aren't you?

You have a point though - what exactly is the money for? They are not paying the police to investigate - its their job.

They are not using it to pay for their accommodation.

They have not used it to pay for his flights around the world 'looking' for Madeleine (Gerry has already said many of them have been donated)

and I am sure Justine McGunniess is not that expensive - though having seen your pic the other day I do wonder if maybe she could get some surgery?????

Madeleine McCann, leaving no stone unturned, now accepting paypal fund now in excess of 1,000,000!!!!

And to whoever said they did not asks for 1mil, Dave didn't say they did, it is just an approximation of where the fund is at
and brunelscooby - if people are willingly donating, don't they have a right to know what for?

If some guy came to your door with one of those charity boxes and did not tell you what the money was for, would you give him £5????

I don't think so.

He neglects to point out that the rental is paid for 100% by the Portuguese Tourist Board. After they left the Ocean Club apartment they moved into a villa which they paid for about a week, but shortly afterwards got an offer of free accommodation, and took it.

Sorry to say, but Gerry McCann is the archetypal cheap Scot.

I wouldnt want to give them any money, They are both on excellent salaries and must have savings. They started to ask for donations far to quick for my liking. If they had come along in a few months time and said ''We need to start a fund because we are running out of money and please help everyone'' That would have been a different story.

We don't know the half of what's going on behind scenes. If we did we would be in for one hell of a shock. I bet his books are immaculate so the money is for something other then finding Madaleine. No amount of money was ever going to bring Madeleine back.

2300 Questions now on this tragedy?

The high number of questions about this child and her family clearly indicates mental illness on the part of the questioner and "his" followers

I can't understand why anyone would even care about getting their petty point across when their child is missing - it is ridiculous. The only thing that should be written is keep looking
