go to community college to major in another area after you graduate?

also in community college could you have extra activities besides schoolwork that you could put on the application? Like work leadership

Yes, there is no reason that you couldn't go to a community college to get an AA/AS/AAS provided you're getting it in a different area than your BA/BS.

Let's say you get a BA in history and then decide you'd like to become an x-ray technician. You'd simply go to the community college and do the x-ray technician program. And, some of your BA credit will transfer down as general core.

What you wouldn't be allowed to do is get a BA in history and then go to the community college and use 60 of those credits to get an AA in history.

Remember, an associates degree isn't always "lower" than a bachelor's. There are some fields where the vocational associates degree is the only place to get certification training.

Keep in mind though -- spending 2 years after your bachelor's degree getting an associates might not be as valuable as spending the same amount of time getting a master's degree.

I would say no. Your degree would already contain an AA, which is the highest degree awarded at a community college. You could attend some specialized programs at C.C.s though, like nursing schools and fire academies.

Yes it possible, thats what Im doing. I have a B.A. and am pursuing two other A.S. degrees and then going for my Masters. Im using the A.S. to help me get into a Masters program.
