I've seen alot of positive and negative responses to posts regarding Kids Talent Network. But, I've really not read any facts.

On the negative side all point to KTN being a scam and a ripoff, but not one person has said how they were riped off. Did you pay them money and not get the results you thought you were promised?

I've gone to the KTN website and I've notice that they do not claim to be a talent agency. However, many people using this forum have claimed so. Those with mostly negative answers.

Those with positive answer towards this company seem to be shouted down. Is it so hard to believe that some people do have positive feedback for this company.

Before you start asking if I'm an employee with KTN. I am absolutely not!!!

I am however a Mother of a child who has worked with KTN in the past and will continue to work with KTN in the future. My son has done two commercials through KTN and was sent to an awesome acting coach.

Sure you are. With your brand new account and no other questions or answers posted you just happen to come in now and know all about what's going on here with this especially since all the other accounts and questions and answers have been removed?

I don't buy that you're some innocent bystander parent with a successful child and I'm entitled to my opinion.

'The negative side' you spoke of actually all points to suspicious activities here with all those accounts answering each others questions and all giving similar stories about this company in essence trying to promote this company. All of us with knowledge of the business became suspicious and there's something to be said about that. That's the scam. The backdoor marketing ploy.

The wording of your 'question' seems too careful as well. If you are a client why did you need to go to their website to see if they claim to be an agency? Wouldn't you have already known that? I for one never said that they claim to be an agency but they certainly seem to act like one according to the claims made by those accounts I previously spoke of. Any one with half a brain who saw the questions and answers posted by these accounts could see that they were posted by the same person or by people in cohoots and anyone else is just in utter denial.

I do however believe that there very well may be some competitor adding fuel to the fire so to speak as the owner claims. I've done a bit of digging and found some other suspicious postings from another company and believe me I will keep my eyes out for that too.

Regardless of that, no one has answered to the fact that these accounts were all answering each others questions and all with glowing reports and wild claims about what this company did for their children. NO ONE and you do not have to have done business with them to have seen this activity. Every single proponent of this company has skipped around that fact. Myself and others here believe it was a backhanded marketing ploy and the fact that even the owner (if that was really him who contacted us) would not respond to that fact leads me to believe that someone at the company was in fact behind it and again that is my opinion and I'm entitled to it.

I feel that almost all of the information regarding the "business" of acting/modeling is available for free with a little research. There are countless pay-websites, books, tapes, etc., about the "business aspect" of the entertainment industry, many of which are great resources. However I find that the vast majority of the information is these publications and websites is out there for free or very little cost. Here is an example of publications that are a waste of money: Numerous books have listings for casting directors and agents. Agents and casting directors move around and come and go very often. Most casting directors work at a production office specific to a particular project, then move on. So these publications are outdated quickly unless they send you updates on a frequent basis. Updated information for agents, casting directors, and casting assignments are available at places like LA411.com, or in "The Ross Reports". I simply want people to understand where money should be wisely spent.

If someone wants to spend hundreds of dollars to subscribe to a website, and that website helps them get an agent, work, etc., then I wouldn't call that a scam or rip-off. People can spend their money however they want.

This whole mess started because there were about four Answers profiles who did nothing but answer each others questions regarding this website in question. It was extremely obvious that they were using this tactic to lure people to sign up. Over and over, they avoided this one single issue. But I was looking at the Yahoo section about finance and business, and people are promoting all kinds of businesses. So I don't really care anymore what tactics people use in here. This is a free-for-all and nobody is going to police these tactics.

So in summation, I don't think that Kids Talent Network is a scam. If they provide a service to people, and these people are ok with paying for it, then there is no issue here. And they are a legit company providing a legit and valuable service.

This is a free country and people can spend their money how they wish. And people can run and promote a business however they see fit as long as they aren't breaking any laws.

That is all I have to say.

Yes, I fully support KTN & my child is currently working with them and has been since end of Feb/March. The ones who were posting questions (that weren't really questions, just statements) repeatedly had not done business with them, and had no factual information.

I think its so silly that every single time someone supports KTN, they think that we are an employee. I must have a lot of pretend jobs as I support a lot of things and what I post on Yahoo Answers is all positive.

In reference to the usernames that were repeatedly posting and answering questions only about KTN, they have been flagged and deleted and that issue is gone. KTN has not ignored this, and has responded as they are doing their own investigation and have more class and dignity than to bring names into this.

Recently, I have made these questions (the ones stating KTN was a scam) aware to parents I know who have had success with them. A lot of them had done so much more than I did and I think I did a lot for our level of experience! It was up to them if they decided to come on here or not. I know a lot of these parents do not visit Yahoo Answers or have a Yahoo account and had no idea.

Now that I am not the only parent actually working with KTN on here, I think its safe to say that we will continue to voice our side of the story as our children are actual KTN members who feel that KTN is a GREAT business to work with.

I have been contacted by someone who has read through the good and bad and have decided what I have to say is valid as it can easily be verified. They have decided to join KTN today! I can be reached by e-mail as my e-mail is open to anyone who wants more information on KTN.

I agree with marianne. I think it's the same people. It's easier to earn a living legitimately you know.

To the girl below, were you an extra or a principal? Anyone can get extra work anytime on their own. To KTN, there are other places you can promote this. We are on to you big time. Why not just go somewhere else? Or is this a gold mine?

I have not done business with them, however, a search for them comes up with this article, which claims people are using YA to provide phony positive testimonials.

A talent agency does not request money up front, and any who do need to be avoided.
