My friend is an inmate in a texas jail he was caught for drugs.. anyways i want to know if its possible that he can request a transfer to California this is where he lived when he got caught.. He'll probably do like 3-5 years.. any clue anyone?

Unless he is doing federal time there is no way California will take him. It is very expensive to house prisoners.

He must serve the time in the location of the crime. There are times when prisons are over crowded and the ship them to other states. But Texas has plenty of space so this won't happen.

Sounds like the scumbag is right where he belongs. Just the beginning in his downward spiral.
Choose your friends more wisely and leave in Texas. Old Bubba gonna make friends with him in those prisons.
