I don't know if this will help, but try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_mathematics and a basic introduction into the mathematics of space.

Mathematics used different geometries of space.
Normally we intergate a function of three dimension an dwe obtain fairly acurately the definition of a mass structured volume in space.
However , in mathermatics we can integnated n times n integrals and obtain "n"dimensions of space. Where[ n] is a set 1,2,3.....ectc.
In General relativity theory a manifold( an imaginary abstract volume)Which integrates space and an imginary unit of time called space time.
So mathematical we can use imaginary voloumes of space to represent the Geometry of Space(the Aether).

There's nothing special about the math you need for calculations related to space studies. Just learn algebra and trigonometry, plane and solid geometry, and as much calculus as you can handle. It depends on what you want to do with it.
