If there is so much evidence against Michael Vick, why let him cop a plea? Punish him to the fullest extent of the law.

If we didn't have plea bargaining for criminal cases in the U.S. the judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, accused persons and witnesses would all die of old age before the trials were ever held. Folks should pay a visit to their local criminal courts building and take a look at the backlog. It is a real mind-blowing experience!

I am not a Vick fan, and would like to see him punished for this despicable act. I don't think that it would be right to single him out and not let him plea bar gin, when the others involved in the case have been allowed to plea bargain.

First of all, the plea isn't going to be an easy one. He'll almost definitely do time in a federal prison. It likely will be a very harsh deal, regardless.

Second, think of the money the federal gov't is spending on this case between prosecutors, investigators, the time spent dealing with the media, etc. It's worth hundreds of thousands of dollars and six months in court to them to let Vick plead guilty and get a slightly reduced sentence.

thats just the way the system works, think of people who have killed someone and they plea to get their sentence reduced, its a shame but it does give them some type of record then, and also saves the taxpayers some money
