It really depends on the quality of the brakes you had installed and the amount of braking that you do. Some people brake hard and often, wearing down the pads very quickly. If your rear brakes aren't well adjusted, it's possible that your front brakes are doing all the work in stopping your car which could also cause them to wear quickly.
Noise doesn't necessarily mean the pads are worn out. It's possible that the noise is simply being caused by brake dust. You might try washing your wheels to eliminate any brake dust build up that sometimes causes noise to come from the brake.
The only way to know for sure is to get your brakes inspected. Most brake shops will do the inspection for free.

Differant car go threw brake bad quiker than others. Truck can eat threw pads, a cars front pad can last 60 to70 thousand miles. If your pad a squealing that does not always mean that the pad is low. pads some time make noise. the is some glue or some kind of crap that you put on the back of the bad to get rid of the noise

Are you hard on them? Ex: Do you ride your breaks down a hill every day? If you do, then they could be used up already. If not, you probably have brake dust or road dust on your rotor. It should work itself out. If you're nervous, take it in. For all you know they could have screwed up the brake job in the first place! Good luck!

It's hard to say. It depends on the quality of the pads, how often you drive your vehicle, HWY or city miles, how you use your brakes, stick shift or automatic, the weather...etc.
With a manual transmission, in cold weather, and HWY miles, a higher quality pads would last longer.
