2wire homeportal 1070 is a router so you can't run 1 router behind another.

Linksys is a company (owned by Cisco Systems) that manufactures home and small/medium-sized business network equipment such as routers. Your ISP (Internet Service Provider) should furnish you with a a DSL or Cable modem. You would connect the router to the modem.

Ethernet cord (or coaxial cable) from the wall to the modem, then ethernet from the modem to the router, and then ethernet from the router to the computer (or not if your router is wireless).
There should be a port in the back of the modem called "data" or "wan" or "internet"; this is where the wall connection goes. There is another one probably called "link" or has a numeric designation; this is where you connect the ethernet to the computer/router.
