They all sound like hair colors...I wouldn't name a child any of them...sorry.

I like Ember a lot. Emerald and Crystal make me think you'll be taking her to lots of festivals with incense. I have heard Alma too much, and Auburn might sound strange if the baby doesn't have red hair. These are just my opinions, and of course if you have your heart set on one of them, that's the perfect one. To me though Ember is the most original of the list. It's also "mysterious" and pretty. Oh, and CONGRATS on your baby.

Hey rob, I know a few ladies named Alma, so stuff it :). Anyway I like the name Ember. Although the little one may be mistakenly called Amber more often than she'd like. However if you decide to name the baby Alma, would it be pronounced with a long A like "apple" or with a sound similar to the word "all"?

I LOVE Auburn, Emerald and Ember. Alma...not so much. Seems like and old lady name ( sorry, not to be rude). And Crystal....I had like 6 Crystals in my class in school and I think its over used. But the first three are lovely and different. Good Job....

Auburn and Ember are both really pretty names. Crystal is okay, too. I'm not too keen on Alma or Emerald. Maybe even Amber? I think Amber is a very pretty name.
You could even try:
Auburn Amber
Ember Alma

Hate Ember, Crystal and Auburn are ok. Alma is a really old name. Emerald is really weird.

I really like the name Ember. Dont care for the rest of them. Oh and by the way people on answers dont like unusual but if someone can be called Ashton then why not use Ember it sounds better.

The only one I would even consider is Crystal. The others are too odd. Maybe Aubrey instead of Auburn. I personally don't like any of the others, sorry.

but Emerald , Crystal, Alma are OK
for Ember is it for a boy or girl?? maybe like Amber for a girl will sound OK ! !

Auburn: nice and sweet, sounds like a leaf
Alma: love it, sounds like a Mexican model
Emerald: sounds pretty but to much like a gemstone
Ember: Sounds like the book City fo Ember- go with Amber
Crystal: i really do not like it sorry
