Well, it should help asking the question two different ways... I see that you did.

The possibilities are very good for "life" other than what is here on Earth to exist or have existed somewhere else in the Universe.

You must realize that the Sun is a star, and each of the stars that you see on a clear night with the naked eye are the stars within our Milky Way Galaxy. There are more than 200 Billion of them in our Galaxy. Each of them might have a solar system with up to ten planets (or more) with their moons orbiting around it. Only time and detailed investigation will determine which of them are similar enough to Earth to have possible life. Beyond our Galaxy there are thousands and thousands of other galaxies out there and each one of them can have billions of stars within it. each one of those stars could have its own solar system also. So, there is much to research in the investigation seeking Earthlike planets. So far I think the count is up to 239 Exoplanets that have been detected and numbered. You may expect that figure to jump to the thousands in a short period of time. Watch out, though, in your thinking...the closest star to Earth is some 4 1/2 Light Years away from us. So there will not be any quick trips up to that star's solar system in our immediate lifetime.

Now, just for fun, let's scratch our heads for a moment...Given that someone detects an Earthlike Planet about 10 Light Years away from Earth... How would you propose to determine if there are fish in the sea there??? How would you suggest that we find out if they have bears in the woods??? ETC. ETC. ETC. That is the real question.

If I believe that we are the only living species in this galaxy, I would be ignorant.
There is life out there. Life out there so advanced that they are already here analyzing this planet.

The only thing we did was send a man to the moon.

i sure think so... i think its so amazing, the size of everything in space and how small we really are, it seems as if we have so much importance in the world we hardly account for anything in the universe.... but now that i've gone off topic a little to finish my answer i belive somewhere out there someone or something is looking up at the stars wondering if life is possible somewhere out beyond the stars and hopefully one day we'll make contact but the vastness of space may keep us quarantined from whatever else is out there for millions of years into the future

somewhere almost certainly. An infinite universe with an immeasurable number of stars and even more planets surrounding them. do you really think that this is the only planet out there capable of life? there must be another similar planet which will have life on it. Noy sure we will ever find it though

there definatley is, but not the intelligent type of life we know of. there is 50 or more galaxies out there each having 100s of thousands of stars/planets. conditions are absolutley perfect on this planet for life, which is rare in the universe. there is most likely very simple life, ie. single celled organisms. probably a lot of planets in our galaxy have bacteria. intelligent life expecially as or more intelligent as us is probably a long shot.

To paraphrase Monty Python, " There has to be intelligent life somewhere out in space because there bugger all down here on Earth!"

Of course there is in our galaxy alone there are about 300 billion stars and billions more galaxys with billions of stars there are more stars in the universe than there are grains of sand hard to beleive but true.do you not think that for one second there couldn't be? also I beleive we was put here by aliens to terraform the planet along with everything else living also I beleive they are still visiting and NASA know about it and they are dealing with them for what ever reason. maybe.

It hasn't been discovered yet but it's possible as there are so many planets out there and many more probably to be discovered. It would be strange that we are alone in the universe with all those planets around, unless they are there to amuse you with their mystery.

there probably is but there universes maybe even galaxies away from our planet earth and and at this time they might even be at stages that we were at almost 4.8 billion years ago. Theres even a more likely chance well never get to contact them

No one really knows about the reality of aliens. I say humans are very proud in saying that "we are the only life in our galazy." There are countless galaxies in space.
