I am 17 and am just wondering what age you were or are when you had or are having baby #1. I am not planning on having a baby anytime soon, maybe in my 20's, 22 or 23 maybe? But how old were you guys? I have a hard time picturing myself pregnant sometimes because i'm only five foot one and 94 pounds..pretty pettite!

22 w/ #1.

I'd say it's an alright age, a bit of a surprise for me and I think another year or two later would have been more preferable (so I'd be 23-24), but hey, lets roll with it! I'd say anytime between 22-28 would be perfect for a start.

"Woo!" for 22 yr olds w/ their first! (I just looked back at all the answers and saw a lot of ppl who said they were 22 lol)

By the way, you'll be a cute little pregnant woman! I'm 5'4" and 120 lbs and that's considered small by a lot of ppl I know but you're even smaller so that'll be cute :-) I couldn't imagine myself pregnant either and didn't look pregnant until I was about 6 1/2 mos.

I got pregnant when I was 19 and 20 when I had her. Her baby sister came 5 years later. Small women have babies all the time. I am not telling you to go out and get pregnant now, but if you did, your body would adjust. You will be amazed at what it can do. Don't try to put a number on it, just let things happen. Good luck!

I was 31 when I had my daughter who is now 3. I tried for a long time to get pregnant. I had some fertility problems but was finally blessed almost 3 years after trying and being married for over 10 years. Now I am 35 with #2 and am due in November and it is a little boy this time. You will know when you get that feeling inside that you are ready to be a Mommy. I got married when I was 21 and was not even ready for a kid till I was almost 30. Good luck.

I'm OLD :) I had my first child at the age of 36. I graduated from high school, graduated from college, went out a LOT, traveled, and had a lot of fun before marriage and a baby. Too soon right now to have baby number 2...it's exhausting being a new mom.
As for your size, your body will adjust. I have several very petite friends who have 2-3 children. They all gained weight in their belly only.

I was 33 when I had my baby. You have plenty of time before you think about getting pregnant. Personally I wasn't ready until I was 32, but everyone is different. I am small as well. I was 5'4 and108 pounds before I got pregnant. And now afterwards I am 105. Thank goodness for breastfeeding!

I'm 16, my boyfriend is 18 and we're trying for #1. Ill be 17 and he'll be 19 when we have it

My friend had her first right after her 16 when her boyfriend was 19 and they're having number 2 now. (She's 18 and he's 21)

Another friend had her first at 20 when her fiancee was also 20.

It's whatever time you feel right about it. Don't let other people tell you when or why you should. As a general tip though, wait until you're done high school and have enough money to support your baby.
