I'm 20 wks along in my pregnancy and I drink non alcoholic beer every once in a while. This week I had about 3 or 4... I was wondering if this is ok. I'm going to see my doctor in a week or so but I was curious what you guys know. Does anyone here drink non alcoholic beer at all?? I know it does have a bit of alcohol...0.5%. But a whole six pack still does not equal up to one regular beer. What my question was is that is it ok or will it add up and be bad for the baby. Thanks in advance for all your answers.

Non Alcoholic Beer is just that, NON Alcoholic. So from the alcohol standpoint you have nothing to worry about. There's another aspect you need to consider, what's it made of? Usually beer is made from yeast. And too much yeast is bad for you when you are pregnant since yeast is conducive to blood pressure issues, and if you do have any risk of high BP then you're in great danger my friend. You don't want to go preeclampsia. It's quite risky. Find out the concentration of yeast, you should not go over 7 grams of yeast per day. Other than that you're fine. Non alcoholic means no alcohol, people.
The doctor will tell you 0 alcohol because of liability issues, but if you think about it, the vinnegar has 5% alcohol in it, and we use it on salads, I don't think you should worry about it. If it bothers you quit, and pick it up again when you're ready ... but I wouldn't worry about it.

While no amount of alcohol is considered safe, the amount that is in a non-alcoholic beer is so negligible as to be worth NO concern.

Anything your baby gets will be filtered through your digestive system first, and diluted by your blood. There won't even be a noticeable effect. Drinking Nyquil has more alcohol than that!

I personally wouldn't take the chance either. Your baby is developing right now and I don't think the question is if will add up. Though your body might filter it, the baby could still get some of it. It's just a better idea to give yourself all the good stuff you can. You can have alcoholic drinks again someday. And they aren't really non-alcoholic, obviously, they are less alcoholic.

Non-alcoholic beer is absolutely fine. The amount of alcohol is so negligible, by the time your metabolism gets through with it, there is nothing reaching the baby. Enjoy your non-alcoholic beer.

I drink non alcoholic beer sometimes. I find myself craving it, especially on a really hot day. My hubby took my out to dinner last week and I actually slammed one, haha. It was sooo good!
