The easiest way to start is to multiply each term by 10. This will eliminate all of the denominators.

We now have 60/5 x + 4x = 320/10

12x + 4x = 32

16x = 32

x = 2. Remember to substitute into the original equation to check.

In problems like this, always look for ways to simplify as quickly as possible. In this case, multiplying each term of the equation by 10 was our best bet. If that didn't work out well in this problem, I probably would have multiplied each term by the LCM of all of the denominators, and simplified from that point.

First you need common denominators for all. To convert 6/5x into something/10x you have to multiply by 2/2 which gives you 12/10x.
You now have 12/10x plus4/10x =32/10
12/10x + 4/10x=16/10x=32/10
multiply both sides by 10 and you get
16x=32
divide both sides by 16
x=2

lcd is 10

12/10x +4/10x=32/10
10(12/10x +4/10x=32/10)
12x+4x=32
16x=32
x=2

6/5x + 4/10x=32/10

You must turn everything into /5. The first is already /5 so make the other 2.

6/5x + 2/5x=16/5

Now add the first part...

8/5x=16/5

since you have both parts /5 then you can remove 5

8x= 16

so...

x= 16/8
x=2

first find least common denominator and convert.

12x/10 + 4x/10=320/10

multiply each number by 10 to eliminate the denominator

120x+40x=320

do the adding

160x=320
then solve for x

x=2

there are alot of ways to solve this math problem, probably easiers ways than mine. hope it helps
