if it were to happen? I know that they do it for pets in case they get lost.

Do you think a plan such as this would really be a deterrent against ID theft?

No. I agree with Gaillee. It's not only a modern mark of the beast, it's too much government control. If more people knew what the government has done for years in the way of experiments for physical and mental control of the masses, well, they wouldn't believe it anyway. That kind of chip could very easily contain something to physically shut a person down. I'm not being paranoid. I used to host a radio show and had several former government people on the show who discussed these things.

I don't think I would. Fingerprint readers are really quite accurate now not to mention eye-scanners. I had to give a thumb-print scan when I got my drivers license last month and apparently that one matched the one I gave on a previous occasion because no one said anything. It just doesn't seem to me that implanting chips in people is necessary. Not only that but this will never go over because of the "mark of the beast on the forehead" thing or whatever from the bible.

I guess this question follows off my answer to you for checks?

In the future, there will be no CHOICE about getting it done. This will be something that is done routinely at birth I think...a lifelong requirement to keep track of us.

Of course, there are always going to be "illegals" that have no chip, and maybe this is a good thing.

But the days of open freedoms for the whole of our society are coming to a close, and we are working towards this willingly with our acceptance of tracking technology already in place. (Cameras everywhere, the requirements for fingerprint analysis at airports, retinal scans for access to high security environments.)

The time when a chip is required to identify us as "legal" is a lot closer than anyone might want to admit. Personally, I give it about 25 years until full implementation in North America, and 50 years world wide.

It wouldn't be a deterrent because most identity theft is assisted by the victim not guarding vital information and keeping it from the hands of the thieves. Credit car receipts, responding to Nigerian e-mail scammers, the list goes on. Besides, I already have two national IDs. One is my retired military ID card and the other is my passport.

Are you talking about chips in human beings, which is well on it's way. Eventually you won't be able to do business or even buy grocery's without a chip, you will be an outsider. And that's exactly what I intend to be, I will NOT allow them to put a chip in me!! We have lost all of our freedoms and this is the final straw. Over my dead body!!! I guess that would be the only up side to having a chip, I D theft. But, there still not going to do it to me!!!

NO! NO! NO! and NO! Deterent against ID theft? Perhaps! But, as a Christian, who has studied for most all my life...absolutely not! I will take NO implant NO MARK whatsoever!

Now, I understand that not all believe as I do so let me make this clear as not to offend anyone. I believe that this implantation could very well play a role in the "Mark" which John wrote about, in the Book of Revelation. In as much, they would have to kill me first!

Yes, they will try to deceive the true purpose of this chip and give it all manner of wise reasons as to do have this done. However, I am NOT willing to take explanations of any kind! If I get lost, I'll make it home somehow. I always have!

No way in HELL!!!! Big brother is watching you. They say it is to stop ID theft, but is is more of a tracking device, So they can know where you are at all times. I know I just got my drivers license renewed and I had to give my thumb print, or I would not get my license.
Now they are also starting to track those that buy gun ammunition in California. They say it is to curtail, criminals that have guns, and murders that are committed. That is not going to stop them from buying ammunition in those states that don't have the law and coming here and committing murders.
Sometimes I wonder who are these imbeciles that think of these things and try to make them laws. They should be committed to insane asylums.

Not until it is proved to be safe and work properly. I would have to see the details of how it works before making an opinon of whether it helps ID theft. I know that the chip system in animals does allow you to track them in case of them being stolden or lost.

No it doesn't make since. If someone wants your expensive pet all he/she would have to do is remove their chip. I suppose under certain circumstances the same thing could happen to humans. I do wish they could come up with an implanted divise for child sex offenders(perhaps in a kidney) so they know where they are every second.

No Way! I agree with Gaillee and Lady G, and anyway how would we know whose name was implanted in us until it was already there?

My dog has the chip because my last pug was stolen it is for his protection only and these things are saving pets everywhere, this is a good thing to look into for your pet.
