God has created you for Himself, and your heart will be restless until it finds its rest in Him.

Provided this isnt some existential riddle, human life, like all life, has the sole purpose of surviving long enough to pass on genes to the next generation- thats the biological/evolutionary explanation.
One may ask, why did life evolve in the first place? That is a tough question, like the sound of one hand clapping. The "how" is pretty well documented by scientific evidence of early single cell life forms (or through a religious answer- take ur pick).

Okay, you do realize you're going to get a bunch of baseless answers that involve religion don't you?
The purpose of human life is something that is decided solely by yourself. You were born and it's up to you to create life into something you want it to be. You can't ask such a vague question as this. It's going to be impossible to get any answer that you will ever like.
Find a reason for your own life. Most other people do unless they are mindlessly following in the steps of a creator god that they have no idea exists or not.

What makes you assume it has a 'purpose'? Life simply is. There is no 'meaning' or 'purpose' to it or to anything else in the universe. Only those things that were intentionally created by someone for some reason have a purpose.

The purpose of all life, whether it is Flora or Fauna, is to procreate although we as sentient beings with an ego would rather think we're more important than all other living things and have therefore devised beliefs that make us more important even though in the final analysis we're only here to procreate.

its a matter of belief, since one cannot prove that x is the purpose of life, or whether life has a purpose at all.
it also depends on your definition of purpose. for one thing, life simply is and we simply live- not necessarily by decision or determination. assuming that life has a purpose, i.e. a goal other than doing all the things included in living itself, we go back to your belief:
nihilist: zilch
atheist-scientist: survival, passing on good genes to next generation, propagation of the species.
religion/spirituality: serving and/or becoming like GOD/ creator/ spiritual essence, building spiritual self in preparation for the afterlife/ next re-incarnation/ nirvana.
consumerism: earn and spend money
existentialism: create and fulfill our own purpose and meaning
yahooism: writing as many best answers as possible

The purpose is, simply put, nearness to God. For God created us and sent all the messengers of God to show humanity his existence. And the nearer to God we are, the happier we become. So another purpose of the human life is for our happiness.

it is to reproduce like any other species, hopefully our purpose is to figure how not to procreate our planet to the point that it will no longer support human existence
