Is your relationship monogamous? Some don't classify it as a STD because we already have the bacteria in our bodies but it can be spread from person to person so he may have it from a previous relationship but to keep from it reoccurring in YOU, he must also take the meds & yes, he can take the same as what you are taking. Once you both have taken the meds & wait 'til everything is cleared up you shouldn't have a problem with it again. Good luck!

It may not be what you think. Sex can alter the pH of the vagina, especially if he ejaculates in you. That pH alteration alone can be enough to throw off your internal balance and cause BV (bacteria is always around, but the vaginal environment keeps it from getting out of control).
I'm gonna sound like a commercial, but there is a product called RepHresh. It's a gel that helps regulate the vaginal pH. It worked great for me. No more BV. Use it after sex or just use it every few days. You can find it at CVS and probably other stores.

yes a girl can get it from a boy go to the doc and have him treated he could have got it from a previous girlfriend. I'll tell you this one thing boys do not develop this naturally this case of bv is the kind that spread like an STD. Has he been with any other females? The only way a boy can catch this is if he has slept with a girl with it.

yes they will get the same pill as us girls do and it is best to take it at the same time. But the question y do u keep getting it? It could be from food, drinks, underware, moist, perfumes and if it keeps coming back and all have sex without condom than both of yall will keep passing it to each other. I use to get alot of yeast infection/BV went to the doc 3time even my fiance got treated but than he went on a diet and i went on it with him. Come to turn out its the food and sodas that causes my yeast and BV. But with you it can be different and even sex can casue BV/yeast good luck to both of ya!

Vaginal deodorants could reason infections, as does douching on occasion. ok yeah you are able to no longer therapy a UTI with cranberry juice, it would not kill the micro organism so for sure you probably did no longer have a UTI. Why the hell could you think of that?! medical doctors exist for a reason. believe me i've got had a million of those and that i drink cranberry juice such as you does no longer have faith. Cranberry juice has something in it that helps stability out the acidity of your urine and can on occasion assist you to no longer get UTI's even with the incontrovertible fact that it does no longer therapy them, you are able to purely therapy UTI's with antibiotics. in case you pass away a UTI untreated it won't pass away, i've got experienced this. fairly quickly the an infection will unfold on your bladder or ureters or kidneys and you will pee blood and initiate off peeing your pants out of nowhere. confident it sounds like bacterial vaginosis, in simple terms give up being a moron and pass see your OB/GYN or get a self-testing element to do away with it. Fricken' ignorent...

Some women get bacterial vaginosis on a regular basis, even if they have never had sex.
As for your boyfriend he would need to see his doctor about this issue to see what medicine may need to be used for him. They can also check to see if he is dealing with bacterial vaginosis too.

Men are asymptomatic careers, or there may be a mild balanoposthitis (infection of glans & foreskin).
Both partners should be treated anyway, for radical cure .
Good luck!
