I have many favorite books. But the ones that come to mind first are Trickster's Choice and its sequel Trickster's Queen by Tamora Pierce. I guess a guy could read them. The main character is a girl, and there's a little bit of romance but not much I guess, and it's a really good book. Look up the summary at barnesandnoble.com or something and good luck reading all these books you've gotten suggested, haha.

This is a really difficult question. All of the books named so far are excellent, I also especially liked A Thousand Splendid Suns. However when I think back about all the books I have read the ones that really brought me the greatest pleasure were the series of books written by Jan Karon on the fictional village of Mitford. Once you start them you can hardly put them down and when they finally conclude you feel like you are leaving old friends.

Included is a list of only the best sorcery fantasy books, grade reading level, and a short review of each book. My favorite (if you didn't notice): The Hobbit.

I hope this helps.
